so this is why they call it home.
I’ve flown over other cities at night, but for some reason flying over Manila was a different experience from the rest. the city lights twinkled across the smooth black surface & its beauty pulled me in so quick it was as if i was no longer surrounded by complete strangers looking through my tiny airplane window, but in my own world looking down on the brightest stars i’ve ever seen. as we got closer and closer to the ground and more and more life came to focus, i realized that i wasn’t only looking at something beautiful, i’m living it too. the city welcomed me & left me in such a trance that i didn’t even notice my uncle when i walked out of the terminal. he moved to the philippines from chino hills about a year ago, so it was so good to see him. may i add that the man’s got the hook ups too so I got to cruise past the long customs line. liiike a boss. it feels so good to be with family again, not to mention be treated like a princess.
i <3 the philippines.
